That’s “Sir Scoundrel” if you please.

About a week ago I posted about getting a title from a place that would take a pile of money over the internet and then a few weeks later send you some fancy-looking paperwork to confirm your snazzy new title.

Well as they say, if it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Thanks very much to reader malmo58, the matter of whether or not one can purchase titles has been cleared up. For anyone not still with us, the answer is No.

malmo58 has also provided the link below, which is a great resource and a source of lots of information about the actual laws, and the unscrupulous merchants trying to swindle folks with their scams.

So, while I will have to forgo the title of Lady Stephanie, this is not an altogether bad thing, for three reasons:
– It means I can spend my $2000 on something more useful, like Lasers!
– I can finaly delete that really old link from my bookmarks file.
– Every time I say Lady Stephanie I get images of whips in my mind, and I’m not sure I want to go there.

Yet, anyways.
