Been slaughtering more balloons lately. It’s just as fun as matches, but less smelly. A bit noisier though.
I think I’m going to put together a little movie of balloon bursts, maybe try to sync it with some music or something.
Here’s two more pictures of balloons, right at the moment of extinction.
Beam about to punch through balloon.
Beam piercing both sides of the balloon.
Here’s an infrared picture of an invisible infrared laser, and one of many balloons that has fallen victem to its powerful infrared ray.
You can see the balloon has been captured in this frame, at the very moment of extinction.
Pop!
Sorry bout the lack of posts. Between work and CFS and stress, I haven’t really had much to say.
About the only extracurricular activities have been playing with lasers, and most of that’s been documented on the Lasers page, so it would be redundant to post it here.
Still, just to keep things going… Today’s a bad day to be a match around here. I’ve been cooking them off, in an effort to capture some really good dying-match scenes. Here’s a couple of my favorites.
Match succumbs to Green Laser!
Flare jet from match almost hit Pulsar!
Burning red match with red Pulsar!
Not much to report this week.
Also, been a bit grumbly, as in grrr, angry.
Three of the four elephants finaly came; one was DOA so I had to send it back, the other two were good. The last one is lost. A search party is being organized, I am told, and fingers have been crossed that it will turn up eventually. So elephant-wise, this week we are 2 for 4, which is an unhappy ratio.
All that combined with a very busy and stressfull-work week have amounted to a lack of Transmissions around here. Some new activity on the Lasers page though.
Hopefully the weekend will decrease stress and increase post-worthy occurances.
Cheers.
So I was reading an article this morning called “The 25 Greatest PCs of All Time”, and was completely stunned to discover that the article contained my name and a link to one of my websites. I’m mentioned in the same paragraph as Steve Jobs, co-founder of Apple computers. Tee hee.
Now if only there was some way to cash-in on this kind of thing.
In the link, look for me under item #23.

So my elephants never showed up on Friday. No mail at all. I know Monday was a holiday but that’s no excuse for the rest of the week! The only mail I got all week long was some junk-mail on Tuesday and on Thursday.
It’s a conspiracy, I tells ya! I want my stuff! I’m frustrated and impatient without my stuff!
I want to order more stuff, but I don’t like having too much stuff outstanding so I can’t order more stuff till I get the stuff that’s already on order.
Dang it.
