Virtual Wedding

This past weekend I attended a virtual wedding in Second Life.

It was a very nice cerimony, the two brides exchanged beautiful vows and rings they had each made themselves.

It was really neat and although it was ‘virtual’ it was also ‘real’ — in the sense that behind the pixels and data, there are real people involved, with real feelings and real emotions.

I was honoured to be asked to act as bridesmaid for one of them and it was really touching to do so.

The whole experience has left me feeling slightly changed, like at the start of something significant, but I don’t know what, yet.

Should be obvious of course, but incase it isn’t, what it stands for is:
What The F**k Am I Doing Here When I Could Be At Home Sleeping Or Screwing Around With SecondLife.

In other words — at work, really tired, unproductive, not accomplishing anything, but too tired and apathetic to even come up with a good excuse to leave the office early.
