You hear now and then people claiming that the 126 format was plagued by film-flatness problems. I don’t think this is true. Perhaps the cheaper 126 cameras had film-flatness issues, but the format took film flatness into account. Here, with a re-loaded cartridge, you can see Hunter, Armstrong, Watson, are all fairly sharp. The leaves in the foreground are sharp right across the frame. In the background, the trees are all slightly out of focus, but to the same degree. I’ve never found a film flatness issue in one of my quality 126 cameras.
