Our new app Tarot: In The Cards has had its first update – this is a minor bugfix release, addressing a couple issues that slipped past our testing process before release last month.

TITC Update

What’s Worse

What’s worse than having a giant spider living in your kitchen by the window above the sink?

When the giant spider living in your kitchen by the window above the sink suddenly goes missing.

Cos now not only do I know there’s a giant spider, but I no longer know where he’s at.

I named him Skeletor. Before he went missing. On account of his huge bony knee joints.

Giant spiders have a lot of knee joints.

I’m not a fan of spiders.

Dangers of Random Googling

Just when you thought it was safe to surf the web… pow!  You learn something you didn’t need to know. And now that it’s wedged into my brain and I can’t get it out, it’s my job to share the joy with everyone else.

I was randomly following Wiki links and came upon a page about sugar and candy, where I learned this wonderful little gem:

Other ingredients commonly found in candy that are not vegetarian or vegan friendly include: carmine, which is a dye made from the cochineal; and confectioner’s glaze, which may contain wings or other insect parts.

This is the sort of thing that I guess wouldn’t go well on the label of a bag of goodies.  Wings and other Insect Parts. (And yes, incase you’re wondering, the cochineal is also a bug.)

Yum!  Can I have some more?

Bugs… :/

I discovered a bug in PassGenR today. 🙁

It’s an odd one – it did not exist in the iPod Touch, but it does occur on the iPhone. Both are running the same version too — 2.2.1 (the latest version).

It does prove the point that you really need more than one device to test on; ideally I guess someone would have both a 1st and 2nd generation iPod Touch, and a 1st and 2nd generation along with a 3G iPhone.

Then of course you’ll want to test on every available firmware version… sheesh. No wonder professional development is so costly.

Anyways, I was able to find and fix the problem in under an hour, and have sent the new binary to Apple for their approval process. Look for PassGenR 1.01 on the App Store sometime soon.

Worst. Nightmare. Ever.

What a rough weekend. First I was doing battle with one of the servers. (I finally won, by the way.) Then I forgot to take my pills not once but twice, and that left me really messed up. Then finally I went to a family function, where the lack of sleep, abundance of stress, and lack of medication rendered me very vulnerable to overstimulation, and between kids, TV, and just general loudness, I crumbled and started to fall apart. So finaly I just had to escape to somewhere quiet. Had a brief lie-down on the sofa, then thought a nice hot bubblebath might relax me…

I’ve mentioned in the past that the bathroom is pretty much the most vulnerable place in the house. Almost anything you are doing in there, puts you at a disadvantage should something serious happen. Whether you’re in the bath, showering, or just sitting on the loo, if something comes up, you’re bound to be unprepared, and quite possibly naked and waterlogged to boot.

So you know whatever happens below the fold, it is bound to be disturbing…
