More Fish Pictures

I’ve been hiding from the world for much of today, suffering a nasty grinding headache since 3am. It’s like industrial lasers are boring into my brain through my temples and eyesockets while my tinitus has been turned up on ‘full’ so the hypersonic impulses are crushing in through my ears.

So instead of a long wordy post with lots of grammar and long words, here’s some pictures of fish.

Blue and White

This is a female betta. I think most people only know about the males with their big frilly tails and fins, but the females are starting to get more and more colourful. This one is a real beauty, that light blue is almost irridescent on her, and when the light hits her right she just seems to glow.

Ice-Pick Headaches

Posted 2009.07.29 10.16 in Pointless Blather by Stephanie

Here’s a superfunhappy thing that comes along every now and then.

Ice Pick Headaches.

Bet you never heard of these fun little rascals. They get their name from the way it feels like a steel prod is being driven into your skull.

Typically I get them no more than a few times a week, just a sudden jab, a convulsion of pain, and then its gone. Normally they last no more than a second.

Not today though. I’m getting them every few minutes – a sudden stabbing blinding pain that shoots through my head, originating just above and behind my right ear. And not only are they coming in horible regularity, but they’re lasting up to 5 seconds at a time, so I get to experience them to their fullest.

It’s leaving me quite nauseous and weak. I want to go home and close all the blinds and wrap bandages around my head and lay down under blankets in the back of a closet with the whole world locked out.

Instead I have to work because I was off the last two days and have a backlog to get through.
