Dinosaurs vs. End Of The World

So last night, there was this show on Discovery Channel, about the dinosaurs getting killed by the meteor or comet or whatever it was. They’ve been hyping it for a week or two, making such a big deal out of it.

Well, So I started to watch. I tried. But after only a few minutes I had to switch it off.

It’s not educational — we already have a pretty good idea of the cosmic collision theory. And it wasn’t entertaining.

Make-believe CGI beasties or not, I just can’t find anything entertaining about watching animals suffer for 90 minutes. It was just sad.

Sorry Discovery Channel – I’m sure you spent lots of money on the special effects, but special-effects-alone does not a good show make. So, booo.

Merry F’ing Xmas

Yes, it’s ‘that’ time of the year again. The malls and shops are mobbed, people are actually wishing for snow, and the usual television schedule is continually being pre-empted for xmas holiday drivel.

Of all the television x-mas specials, there is only one which I think truly captures the spirit of xmas. In fact, Dennis Leary’s special doesn’t just capture the xmas spirit, it goes on to stuff the spirit of xmas into a small cage so we can poke at it with pointed sticks. “Jab! Jab!” “Ooo I got it in the eye!” “Ha ha! Take that xmas!”

Moving on, did you know that “Santa” is an anagram for “Satan”? That the former is also known as “Saint Nic” and the latter, “Old Nic”? Ever notice that they both wear red? One must wonder, what ‘Santa’ does the other 364 days of the year…

Happy holidays…
